7 Course Plant-Based Dinner

This is a prime example of the magic of NYC! Recently I had the distinct pleasure of attending a private 7-Course Plant-Based dinner prepared by Mario Buccellati of Mariolino’s Vegan Italian Kitchen.  The food was indescribable (Seriously cannot tell you how good it was… Just look at it!) and every single thing was made from scratch, including the plant-based cheese! Even if you aren’t plant-based you will LOVE this food and experience and I highly recommend it. Read more

Going Vegan

When COVID hit in March I decided to try out Sakara Life, a plant-based meal service.  With virtual school and all the stress of quarantine life I needed something convenient, but I found I really enjoyed the food and rapidly started to feel so much better.  My skin looked healthier.  I didn’t feel as bogged down.  I felt less congested (a constant struggle for me).

I first only planned to cut out meat, cheese and eggs but quickly found I could no longer eat seafood either (thank goodness for veggie sushi!).  I am such a huge animal lover that this new way of life felt aligned with my values and so began my vegan journey! Read more

It’s Our Birthday!

It’s always been special to me that Li and I have our birthdays one day apart! (I was actually induced on my birthday but my stubborn boy decided he wanted his own day.)  Our birthdays looked much different this year amid the COVID-19 Stay at Home orders, but we still made it special and memorable. Charleston

Life is busy (understatement of the decade?).  We all have so many commitments to work and family and all the things that our friendships can sometimes come in last place.  Well, I am here to tell you if you take one thing to heart, know this…friendship is not a luxury.  It is absolutely vital to your well-being.  Every year I plan a girls trip for this very reason.  This year I went with my lovely friends, Carla & Jasmin, to Charleston, SC and it did not disappoint! Italy – all the goodness?

I told everyone I would come back from Italy 10 lbs heavier…and I may have reached my goal 😉
Tons of pizza, focaccia bread, caprese, pasta, wine, fish, gelato and desserts…Oh and how can I forget…countless cappuccinos! I must’ve averaged 3 per day. But when in Rome!  Read below for our favorite stops in each city.

Rome:
Papa Rex – Known for their fish. Close proximity to the Vatican. Definitely a great spot after the Vatican (minus the tourists). Read more

Gelato class

Are you looking for a fun (and yummy!) activity in the city this summer?  My girlfriend Stacey so thoughtfully gifted me a gelato making class at Mia for my birthday.  I’ve been having some Italy withdraws so it was the perfect time to now book a class and take part! Read more

Bergdorf’s Afternoon Tea

When you don’t live close to your mom, you appreciate her in a whole new way.  Liam was so excited to have his grandmother in town and, to be honest, so was I!  We always fit in a girl’s shopping day when she comes to town and this visit was no exception.  To start, we donned our best hats and headed out to high tea at Bergdorf’s. St Patrick’s Day

“May your troubles be less and your blessings be more and nothing but happiness come through your door.”  St. Patrick’s Day is just one of the most fun holidays to celebrate!  I love the inclusiveness of everyone being Irish for a day: the green everything, the shamrocks, the parades, the music, and of course themed food and drinks (corned beef and green beer anyone?).  It’s a holiday everyone young and old can get into and enjoy.  You see so much spirit around town it’s like being back at your high school spirit week (How’s that for a throwback?!).
