VIIcode

One downfall of travel, birthday celebrations, and All. The. Things. is the resulting tired, puffy eyes.  With my hectic schedule lately, I was feeling the effects (even in the form of dark circles, which are rarely an issue for me) and it was a perfect time to test out some new products from VIIcode. Bergdorf’s Afternoon Tea

When you don’t live close to your mom, you appreciate her in a whole new way.  Liam was so excited to have his grandmother in town and, to be honest, so was I!  We always fit in a girl’s shopping day when she comes to town and this visit was no exception.  To start, we donned our best hats and headed out to high tea at Bergdorf’s. Vision Expo

Don’t you just a love a good ladies’ night out?  I recently had a truly memorable one at The Gramercy Park Hotel for Vision Expo, presented by the Vision Council.  Since I tend to spend most evenings at home with my little guy and fur babies (which I love!) it’s nice sometimes to glam up, get out, and just be me for a night. In every stage of my life ladies’ nights have been a vital part of my self-care…they are just so good for the soul. Read more

Victoria Bader

“Patience and persistence are necessary values in order to achieve a successful outcome in any worthwhile endeavor.“ – Joseph Pilates. I am delighted to introduce you to the multi-talented Victoria Bader…fellow New Yorker, professional dancer, ballet instructor, and my personal Pilates guru. Her love of movement and extensive knowledge will peak your interest even if you’ve never discovered a love of dance. Read on for more of her story, including the program she developed specifically for postpartum moms, what you should look for in a Pilates instructor, her favorite things about NYC and words we should all live by.

Tell us a little about your professional progression from performing Ballet, to teaching Ballet, and now also teaching Pilates.

I started ballet lessons at 8 years old and it became obvious I was very suited to Movement and knew Ballet would always be in my life. Not only as a performer and teacher, also because culture, art and imagination are so important to all of us, it provides a place for our mind to go, grow and open then maybe change a POV. Additionally, I enjoyed being a place where anything is possible with HARD WORK that motivates growth. I began teaching at 16 years old, I discovered the ability to pass on information that was valuable to all my students that empowered them. The mind follows the body, once the body improved strength wise, the mind gets stronger and that inspires people. They see results, whatever they may be, this brings happiness. Read more

St Patrick’s Day

“May your troubles be less and your blessings be more and nothing but happiness come through your door.”  St. Patrick’s Day is just one of the most fun holidays to celebrate!  I love the inclusiveness of everyone being Irish for a day: the green everything, the shamrocks, the parades, the music, and of course themed food and drinks (corned beef and green beer anyone?).  It’s a holiday everyone young and old can get into and enjoy.  You see so much spirit around town it’s like being back at your high school spirit week (How’s that for a throwback?!). Our 1st Valentine’s Day with Liberty ??

Liberty has been with us exactly 3 months this Valentine’s Day…and she is the sweetest gift ever?

She has grown, can pick up her own toys, barks when her brother and sister barks (not sure I’m happy about that one), can hold her head up better on her own. She still loathes car rides but she has taken a few rides from The Upper West Side over to the Animal Medical Center on the East Side of Manhattan. Read more
