NYC Events: August 2022

Close out summer with some of the best events NYC has to offer!  I love New York all year but summer is so much fun with even more to see and do than you ever thought possible.  I wanted to share some of my favorite upcoming events with you for your upcoming trip, or if you are a local looking to enjoy the city to the fullest before the cold winds blow.

 

  1. U.S. Tennis Open 2022

US Open Fan Week is back and better than ever. From Tuesday, August 23 through Sunday, August 28 take advantage of free admission to the grounds to witness the US Open Qualifying tournament as well as a variety of tennis, family and music entertainment!  Visit https://www.usopen.org/en_US/about/us_open_fan_week.html for more info!

 

  1. Lady Gaga in Concert at MetLife Stadium

  1. New York City Restaurant Week

For a foodie like me, this is the end all, be all.  I would argue NYC has the best restaurants in the world with every imaginable cuisine represented.  New York City Restaurant Week is July 18-August 21 this summer and price tiers are $30, $45 and $60.   1. Sun Sets at The Met

The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s new Sun Sets, a weekly music series with a rotating lineup of DJs from the city’s dance music underground runs through September 3. Sun Sets is free with Museum admission.   Visit https://www.metmuseum.org/events/programs/met-live-arts/sun-sets for more details.

 

  1. Blues BBQ Festival

Send the summer out in style with some of the biggest names in barbecue and blues! Enjoy ribs, pulled pork, beer and great music!  Performers include Dwayne Dopsie & The Zydeco Hellraisers, Jackie Venson, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Bette Smith and Don Bryant.
